Tools that run on your computer, not ours
Almost every online converter works the same way: you hand your file to a stranger's server, wait while it uploads, sit through an interstitial, and get back a result with a watermark and an invitation to buy the pro plan. Your document, meanwhile, is on a machine you know nothing about, kept for a length of time you were never told.
That trade used to be necessary. It is not any more. Modern browsers can decode video, rasterise a PDF, run a neural network and compress an image entirely on your own device — so the 246 tools on this site do exactly that. Your file never leaves your computer, because there is nowhere for it to go.
You do not have to take our word for it. Open any tool marked 100% private, disconnect from the internet, and use it. It still works. Nothing was ever being uploaded.
What that means in practice
- No upload wait. A 200 MB video starts processing immediately instead of crawling up your connection first.
- No file size limit. There is no server bill to cap, so there is no ceiling to enforce.
- No account, ever. Nothing to sign up for, nothing to verify, no email to hand over.
- No watermarks and no locked features. There is no paid tier, so there is nothing to hold back.
- Confidential documents stay confidential. A contract, a payslip, a medical scan or a passport photo is processed on your machine and never transmitted.
- It works offline. Once a page has loaded, most tools keep going with no connection at all.
The honest cost: we cannot recover a file you lost, because we never had it. And a very large job depends on your own device's memory rather than a server farm. We think that is the right way round.

Common questions
Are the tools really free?
Yes. Every tool is free with no account, no watermark, no file-size paywall and no usage limit. There is no premium tier at all. The site is funded by a small fixed number of ad slots on the tool pages.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Everything runs in your web browser on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS. There is nothing to download and nothing to keep updated.
Are my files uploaded?
For the great majority of tools, no — they are processed entirely on your device. Tools that must reach the internet say so on their own page and explain exactly what leaves your computer.
Is there a file size limit?
We do not impose one. The practical limit is your own device's memory, so a very large video may be too much for an older phone but fine on a laptop.
Can I use these for work documents?
That is much of the point. Because a private tool never transmits your file, a contract, an invoice or a personnel record is processed locally and never reaches a third party.
